Rifle Antelope Hunts
With more than 300,000 acres, there are many prime locations suitable for antelope hunting. In Wyoming, our antelope rifle hunting season runs from October 5th to the end of October. If you want to participate in a three-day trophy antelope tent camp hunt in September, it is a Type 1 hunt conducted in Area 47, open to residents and non-residents and the application deadline is in late May, this hunt takes over 4 points to draw.
If you are seeking two-day rifle antelope hunt, the season runs from October 5th to the end of October. This hunt is also a Type 1 in area 30, with an application deadline in late May.
At the height of the rut, stalking the pronghorn antelope for the trophy of your choice is exciting, making it an ideal hunt for new or younger hunters. Archery Antelope Hunts
Our archery hunts are a combination of ground blinds, sitting over waterholes, and spot-and-stalk styles. You need to have patience for archery hunts, as you could spend between 8 to 12 hours waiting for the perfect antelope to enter your sight. Fortunately, with abundant antelope herds, there are more than enough antelope to provide you with excellent shot opportunities.
The antelope archery hunts are ran during September in Area 30 and are classified as a Type 1. The hunts for both are open to residents and non-residents, but applications close at the end of May.
Depending on your preferences, you can choose to travel via horseback, hiking, or 4WD with the archery-guided antelope hunts we offer. At Wagonhound Outfitters, we don’t use ATVs for hunting, and we very rarely use them to transport animals. We prefer utilizing low-pressure tactics as we believe it provides better opportunities and success rates for hunters throughout the season.
Shooting Expectations During Antelope Season
During rifle-guided antelope hunts, you should expect to make an average shot of 250 yards, but hunters should be proficient up to 300 yards. Those participating in guided archery hunts should note that the average shot is between 20 to 30 yards, but hunters should be adept at up to 40 yards for best results.
